Sodium Cocoamphoacetate is a compound that comes from the coconut. It is a surfactant, or cleansing agent, used in hair care, skin care and personal hygiene products. Sodium cocoamphoacetate is less commonly used as a main ingredient in beauty products, though it is common in shampoo and conditioner due to its ability to condition as well as cleanse. It also enhances the foaming action of products like shaving cream, foaming soaps and mousse.
Natural Glycerin is perfectly safe, and even beneficial to skin. It is also a byproduct of soap making, and causes natural glycerin soaps to appear translucent. It is even safe for young children, and in fact is much better for them than commercial soap, keeping their skin lovely and soft, and also for you. You can always tell a bar of glycerin soap due to its hygroscopic properties. It forms beads of moisture on the surface, and dissolves more easily in water.
Lauryl Glucoside is a dispersant or surfactant that is made from coconut or palm oil and glucose from corn. Surfactants also have foaming qualities that are important to disperse the shampoo while washing.
Sodium Lauryl Glutamate A mild cleansing agent that leaves skin with a soft after-feel. Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is is a mild amino acid based surfactant derived from natural and renewable resources. Created from coconut oil and Glutamic Acid, this gentle cleanser has excellent cleansing and foaming properties, is environmentally-friendly and well-tolerated by sensitive skin types.
Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate is a mild, anionic, plant based surfactant derived from natural and renewable resources. Created from coconut oil and "sugar" derivative , this gentle cleanser has excellent foaming properties, is environmentally-friendly and well-tolerated by all skin types.
Coco-Glucoside is an non-ionic surfactant that can be used as a foaming, cleansing, conditioning, and thickening agent to liquid cleansers and shampoos. It is derived from renewable raw materials such as coconut oil and corn and fruit sugars, and is completely biodegradable. It contains no diethanolamides, lauryl sulfates, laureth sulfates, parabens or formaldehyde. There are no known allergens in this product due to the manner by which its ingredients were processed. Coco Glucoside is compatible with all skin types and is gentle on the skin and hair. It can be used in manufacturing a variety of cosmetic and skin-care products such as shampoos, conditioners, body washes, cleansers, hand soaps, body scrubs, acne treatments, facial moisturizers, hair dyes and baby products.
Glyceral Oleate is derived from Glycerin and Oleic Acid—fats extracted from vegetable oils—it is used as an emulsifier for creams. It occurs as a clear amber or pale yellow liquid. In cosmetics and personal care products, it is predominantly used in the formulation of lipsticks, eye shadows, makeup bases, and skin care products. Glyceryl Oleate helps to form emulsions by reducing the surface tension of the substances to be emulsified. It also functions as a skin conditioning agent - emollient.
Sodium Citrate is sometimes used as an acidity regulator in drinks, and also as an emulsifier for oils when making cheese. It allows the cheeses to melt without becoming greasy. We use it as a pH stabilizer which differentiates your pets shampoo from your own to give their skin and coat a healthy feel.
Sodium Chloride or salt is a crystalline solid, normally obtained from sea water or rock deposits. It is commonly used in surfactant systems to adjust viscosity or enhance of preservation.
Gluconic Acid is a mild organic acid, neither caustic nor corrosive and with an excellent sequestering power. Non toxic and readily biodegradable (98% after 2 days), it occurs naturally in plants, fruits and other foodstuffs such as wine (up to 0.25%) and honey (up to 1%). Gluconic acid is prepared by fermentation of glucose, whereby the physiological d-form is produced.
Sodium Benzoate is a widely used food preservative. It is the sodium salt of benzoic acid and exists in this form when dissolved in water. It can be produced by reacting sodium hydroxide with benzoic acid. Benzoic acid occurs naturally at low levels incranberries, prunes, greengage plums, cinnamon, ripe cloves, and apples.
